For three years, I volunteered at the Birmingham Outreach Foundation, helping to provide meals and essential resources to the homeless. Through this work, we offered warmth, support, and a sense of dignity to those in need, ensuring they felt seen and cared for in difficult times.

Volunteering with BOF has truly changed my life. From the moment I stepped in, I wasn’t just a volunteer, I became part of a lovely family. BOF isn’t just a charity; it’s a family-run mission built on love, compassion, and the belief that no one should go hungry. I’ve seen first-hand how a warm meal and a kind conversation can bring hope to someone in need. Being part of this work has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. But we can’t do it alone. Your support can help us reach even more people in need. Please consider volunteering and donating to BOF and being part of something truly special.

Being shoulder to shoulder with BOF on the frontline of the fight against poverty for several years has taught me so much about life. They are an amazing group with the biggest of hearts.

I have been a volunteer at Birmingham Outreach for around a year now, and I have been warmly received by the organisation and Mr Shahed in particular. This organisation had me feel part of a family and not excluded, helping those in need every Wednesday without exception. Being part of BOF has enriched my experience in Birmingham and enhanced my sense of compassion with the vulnerable/ marginalised communities.

Volunteering for Birmingham Outreach Foundation is an incredible way to give back to the community. It is really nice to see the immediate positive effect it has on the people there. It is very rewarding to be a part of this effort

Volunteering for BOF is one of my most rewarding roles, it fills my heart every time I go. It feels like a family, all the volunteers have become good friends who check on one another. We know the service users by name and get to check in on them every week, which for some of them, is the only friendly reaction they get or chance to catch up with someone who truly cares. It’s more about giving food, it’s about the community that’s being built. That’s not to discredit the food however which looks incredible and is well received by everyone! I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my time and I’m truly so grateful for this experience and role, keep going team BOF… we’re making waves!

Supporting Birmingham Outreach Foundation has been a truly humbling experience. As a Muslim, I’m reminded of the words of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): 'The best of people are those who bring the most benefit to others.' Volunteering here has made me realise that small acts of kindness can have a huge impact on someone's life. Thank you to the BOF team for allowing me to have this opportunity.

I’ve had an incredibly fulfilling and eye opening time volunteering with Birmingham Outreach Foundation. The dedication of my fellow volunteers to consistently do their upmost to feed the homeless population, whilst maintaining a sincerely compassionate attitude to all those in need, has created a community based on mutual cooperation and kindness that is a pleasure to be a part of.
